Language Excursions Taster

The Language Excursions this week starts with a trip to the Castle of Good Hope. There we visited a well-known art artist called Zavick aka “Supadog”. We had a drawing/art lesson and created a “Zine”. A very creative day! Wednesday we went to a township/suburb of Cape Town called Manenberg. We had the chance to speak to the Non Profit Organization “Proudly Manenberg”.

Last but not least we had a meeting with a very special person. We met Hildergard, a white sangoma. A sangoma is a practitioner of herbal medicine, divination and counseling.

Best regards,

Viktor

A warm welcome!

This week we have two new students. We wish you a great time in Cape Town and at Kurus English!

Kurus English puts language into action

Johannes Kraus, the Director of Kurus English, an English as foreign language school, after hearing and an announcement regarding  “ Enterpreneurs SA” last week applied to be part of this event. Fortunately he was successful in the selection process and had the opportunity  to present his concept “Kurus English” on 567 CapeTalk Radio who are working in combination with First National Bank (FNB). Entrepreneurs SA hope to provide South African businesses (entrepreneurs) with advice to help take them to the next level of their operations.

There is no doubt that the best way to learn a language is through total immersion. Clearly, placing yourself in the environments and cultures where your chosen new taal is spoken will quickly improve your ability. Just look at Charlize Theron… read more and listen to the interview
